Planning Granted – Church Street, Great Shelford

We received planning permission and listed building consent for our scheme in Great Shelford. The scheme is to extend a listed property to the rear so as to gain the owners additional bedrooms and a large kitchen dining space.

The design uses a ‘butterfly wing’ sedum roof to enhance the appearance of this listed property and to work against the low lying rear elevation of the building. This will also aid the environmental aspect of the extension whilst also offering another layer of ecology to the property.

We are in the process of developing the design further for RIBA Stage 4 Detailed design / Tender and then RIBA Stage 5 – Construction. You can view more on the project here.

New Project – Wrap around – Wordsworth Ave, Eaton Ford

We have been asked to design a ground floor extension to a property that ties in all the existing structures of the house. In addition, this will include a first floor extension that will give the owners the extra bedroom they require. This scheme is in the early stages of discussion following a detailed feasibility study of the property. We have produced three different designs that explore ideas and materiality.

New Project – Two storey extension – Rectory Close, Great Paxton

We have uploaded a new project for a private client in Great Paxton on the outskirts of St Neots. The scheme is to form a two storey extension to the rear that engages with the garden and to alter the internal arrangement of the property to make best use of the space. We have recently produced a feasibility study for the owners that explored different ideas, spatial arrangements and materials.

Extension, Church Street, Great Shelford – Goes in for planning

We have submitted the extension project in Great Shelford to planning with South Cambs District Council. The application is Householder Application with Listed Building Consent to gain permission for a single storey rear extension to the property.

We have developed the design with the clients since the feasibility process to gain some more additional space and ensure a comfortable design that sits against the listed property. The design process entailed exploration of the materials and roof forms due to the scale of the property and location of key limiting factors (i.e. first floor window, neighbour’s extension, boundary walls, etc.). All of these site contextual issues have assisted in developing the design to be a sympathetic addition to the property.

You can view more on the project here. We will keep you informed of how things develop.

Planning Granted – Family Home, Avenue Road, St Neots

We have been granted planning permission by Huntingdonshire District Council for a unique and interesting scheme in St Neots.  The chance to review how to incorporate several different buildings based around a central garden into one large family dwelling has been a delight!

The project has developed since we carried out three feasibility studies for the client.  The scheme is a sympathetic and carefully considered piece of architecture that has used the site conditions and existing structures to influence the design.

We will keep you posted of any developments. We are working with Joseph Construction Ltd to develop the detailed design information and prepare for works on site.  If you would like to see more of the scheme and project you can here.
