New Project, extension and alterations – Flaxfield, Linton

There are a considerable amount of 1970s-1980s houses and bungalows that unfortunately look tired and/or need to be updated. When approached to undertake this scheme we wanted to do this justice by bringing in designs that work with themes and ideas of the era it was originally built, but as a contemporary and modern interpretation. We are really pleased with the designs we created from the initial ideas the clients envisioned, and by working with them we have a design that they. both really love.

The design has evolved since these feasibility studies and takes elements of all three schemes to generate a design that will drastically enhance the bungalow, the setting and the surrounding context. New Project – Extension and alterations, Browning Drive, Eaton Ford

We have published a new project we have been working on for a private client at Browning Drive in Eaton Ford, St Neots. It is a really fantastic project where we have been asked to extend, alter and refurbish a pretty standard detached dwelling into a charismatic piece of domestic architecture!

This shows when you carefully review the brief of the client, understand the existing fabric of the building and then push these boundaries; you can create unique designs for the house. It is a kind of ‘Ugly house to Lovely house’ idea! Onwards to planning!

Option 03 - External view

New project – Rear extension and alterations, Huntingdon

We have been approached to undertake some changes to a property in Huntingdon. We are looking to complete a rear extension using permitted development rules and guidance to avoid the lengthy planning process. We have designed three feasibility studies for the client and are in the process of finalising the scheme moving forward.

On Site – Wrap Around – Wordsworth Avenue, Eaton Ford

Works commenced on site in March 2018 with a local building firm – Joseph Construction Ltd; and despite an initial delay due to an unforeseen drain, are progressing well with works to the roof on the road to completion.

We have been developing the design further with the client to ensure the right kitchen arrangement and first floor layout for them as a family. Initial feedback from the client is positive and they can’t wait to enjoy their extended and refurbished home.

We will keep you posted of any developments but here are a few on site photographs to show the progress.

Internal Alterations – Ackerman Street, Eaton Socon – Completed

We have taken finished pictures of the internal alterations we carried out on the project at Ackerman Street, Eaton Socon. The client is now able to fully enjoy their family home and reconnect with the rear garden from the new entertainment area. The builders – Joseph Construction Ltd were excellent and completed the work to a really high standard. The joinery was all bespoke and completed by The Joinery in Bedford.
