New build homes — Nether Heyford, Northamptonshire

Date May 2018

The village of Nether Heyford is in the district of South Northamptonshire Council. The village is flanked to the north by the M1 and A45, and to the south is the Grand Union Canal network and the River Nene tributaries. Nether Heyford is a mixture of different age properties and vernacular architecture.

The site is a plot to the rear of a property on Furnace Lane and has long been reviewed for development by the council and others. The proposal is to form four new build homes plots with 2 x 4 bedroom houses and 2 x 5 bedroom houses. This will also include integrated or detached double garages to accommodate the family cars. In addition, the scheme will look to extensively integrate the natural habitat of the area in and around the properties. This is important to ensure the homes sit comfortably within the landscape and area.

The homes have been designed to be high-quality family homes with expansive views out across the gardens and the surrounding countryside to the northeast. The proposal uses the locality and context of adjacent homes to establish a coherent and positive streetscape.

We are working with a local property developer to complete an outline planning application with the council, with a view towards completing the full planning permission and detailed design information.
