We have been approached to undertake a listed building consent application for a private client in relation to an historical barn located on their property.  The barn was built around the 17th Century and is believed to be in the style of a ‘Tythe’ barn.  The barn has been a focal point in the village and was regularly used for events.

The barn is grade 2* listed and has been included on the Huntingdonshire District Council – Buildings At Risk Register requiring urgent stability and maintenance works.  The works to be carried out include brickwork repairs and the installation of rainwater goods to the roof. The new owners of the property are keen to remove the building from the register and ensure this heritage asset has a future.

We have undertaken a visual survey of the barn and organised various surveys required for the LBC application. The LBC application was completed in April 2016 and we have been assisting the client in finalising prices to undertake the works.
