We were initially asked to undertake a potential extension to the rear of an existing
bungalow. The clients were open minded as to how the property should be extended, where the extension would sit and how it would look aesthetically.
The scheme has been developed to offer the clients two individual extensions. Each extension gives them a different perspective as to how they could use their property. The larger extension is based on the form of the existing gable end extending south to form a sun-room. A repeated side extension forms the dining room in a similar pitched roof style but lower and subservient. This design allows for views out and across their garden and the countryside. The roof would be extended out to give them some protection from the suns rays.
The smaller side extension with a green roof and central rooflight creates a larger master bedroom for the clients. This creates extra space internally, allowing for the placement of a master en-suite alongside the newly extended bedroom.
