We were recently invited by W S Lusher & Sons Ltd to visit a property Simon was working on before he left Cowper Griffith Architects.  The project was to build a 5-6 bedroom private house with separate garage and bird hide.  The house is set on the fringe of the picturesque village of Burnham Overy Staithe in Norfolk.  The site was challenging due to flood issues and being tight in shape.

The design uses the natural materials of the area but in a contemporary manner, with banded brickwork and flintwork, dutch gables and ternecoat stainless steel roofs.  The building includes high performance windows by Internorm and large slim-line glass doors by Vitrocsa.  Simon completed all the information post planning stage including the tender and construction drawings, specifications and coordination of the design team information (ie. structural, civils and services).

Unfortunately, Simon had to leave the project during the construction process but he has remained on good terms with the builders and the clients.  We have included a few photos taken from the visit prior to its completion.

Good luck to the owners and we wish them well in their new home.  Hopefully we will get to see the project in its completed form!
